April Tenant of the Month! 

Trudy Budlong 

Trudy Budlong was born in New Albany, Indiana on January 22, 1929.  She lived there until she was six, then her family moved to Miami, Florida for her father’s health.  She has two brothers and two sisters.  Trudy graduated from Miami Edison High School and from there she attended Iowa Wesleyan college for two years graduating with a degree in music.  Her career started in Nebraska where she taught music at a school for the blind.  She also picked up some Braille while she was teaching there.  Trudy then moved back to Miami where she met her husband Don on a blind date set up by his sister while he was visiting from Iowa.  In a year’s time they were engaged and married and have been together 71 years.  Trudy and Don had been living on the family farm in Titonka for 68 years.  They have 4 children.  Trudy was the choir director at the Methodist church for 15 years, a member of the Titonka Federated club for 25 years and on the bowling team in Titonka for several years.  They have lived at the Summit House for 3 years and are both diehard fans of the Iowa State Cyclones.  Congratulations on being Tenant of the Month!
